Just wanted to let you know we are back from China, and report to you we had a fantastic time, everything you planned for us was  entertaining, informative as well as good fun. There has been no negative feedback about any aspect of the trip, even your people in Hong Kong where we said we would look after ourselves went out of their way to make sure we were looked after every step of the way.

As I told you we are all members of a golf club that has about three thousand members, we will all be recommending your company whenever we talk about our trip to China. A special thanks to you Pam, I outlined what we required and you exceeded our expectations in putting the tour together. All of the people who travelled have asked me to express their appreciation to you…

'A glimpse of Vietnam'

Dear Helen Wong's Tours

We have just completed a Glimpses of Vietnam tour and we loved every second of it. The accommodation, activities and food were excellent.

In particular, our group's Tour Guide Tom Bui was outstanding. His manner was always professional and efficient. At the same time, he showed great sensitivity, patience and understanding of the needs of each individual in our group. He was always ready to offer assistance when needed and showed genuine concern for the welfare of us all. His sense of humor and fun, flexibility, kindness and knowledge of the history and culture of the Vietnamese people make him a wonderful ambassador for Vietnam and an invaluable Tour Guide.

'We didn't want the China tour to end'

 

Just wanted to say thanks for all your help in making our recent trip to China such a success. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We did not want it to end. We did everything we had on our wish list plus lots more. We would also like to pass on our thanks to the Tour Leader, Yayao Xu, for all his help and organisation which contributed in no small way to the tour’s success.

'Tour Guide was exemplary'

We recently travelled to China with Helen Wong’s Tour and completed the Ancient Panorama tour. Our national tour guide was Happy Apple (Miranda Lee).
We would like to express our congratulations to her for her exemplary conduct with the tour as we did have a few minor problems such as sickness , whereby we were admitted to hospital with another lady for a few hours. Miranda was deeply concerned about our health and wellbeing and managed extremely well under difficult conditions.
Both my husband and myself would like to thank her very much for her concern and care ,please forward this onto her from the Beijing Office. Please pass on our best wishes to Miranda.

We have just returned from a wonderful first-time tour of China (10th September to 5th October) - a tour which we very much enjoyed.  Our fellow travellers were most compatible and good company: in the beginning there were 9 of us, which was a conveniently sized group and provided variety.  Later the group split into 2 tours, with 5 persons in our group.  We observed large groups from other tour companies and were appreciative that ours was small in number.  

 'Amazing China' was a phrase that regularly came to mind - we enjoyed a well-rounded tour where every day it seemed there was something new that we had not anticipated or which was grander than our expectation, even though we had read books, viewed DVD's, etc.  We built from the major, well-known tourist attractions of Forbidden City, Great Wall, and Terra Cotta Warriors to the lesser known sights in Chengdu, Kunming, Guilin and Suzhou, (e.g. the Giant Buddha, the rice terraces, the Dazu carvings, the Reed Flute Cave, the Chinese gardens) to finally arrive in Shanghai where there was an ocean of people, coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival.  

We had a new guide in each city, which had the advantage that we experienced a wide range of personalities.  They all had good knowledge of the tourist attractions, as well as being proficient in Chinese history and local culture.  They were informative, very professional and entertaining. Two stood out - Christina (the Helen Wong employee in Beijing) and Chelsea in Kunming - they put in that little bit extra.

We found the accommodation quite satisfactory, with hotels located conveniently and, of good standards. The stand-out hotel was the Marriott in Beijing.

The lasting impression of China is the friendliness of its people.  In all cities, we encountered happy, friendly people who were inclusive, pleased to encounter visitors to their country, wanting to have their photo taken with us, and happy for us to photograph them.  Language was not an impediment, with communication easily taking place with a smattering of Chinese and English languages, and many signs and smiles.   In the park at Kunming, we mingled with people playing music and dancing - it was such a rewarding experience.

We have no hesitation in recommending this tour to others.

My husband and I have recently returned from the 25 day Grand Tour of China organised by your Company.  We would just like to say that the Tour lived up to everything that was mentioned in your brochure; the accommodation was wonderful, the drivers amazing and of course the guides outstanding.   To have an english speaking guide was wonderful, their knowledge of China extensive and they were very passionate about their homeland and enjoyed sharing its history with us.  There was nothing I could fault with this fantastic Tour; we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and would highly recommend this Tour, or any of your Tours to China.  Many thanks for making our 25 days in China something we will never forget.

We Appreciate the Flexibility shown by your guides

This is just a short personal note of thanks for the wonderful time Elizabeth and I had in China in the tour organised by Helen Wong’s Tours. It was a great success.

I think the thing which I most appreciated was the flexibility of the guides in changing plans to fit individual interests A good example was Xian - which I had visited roughly 20 years ago on business. I was keen to drive past the Chinese Central Satellite Control Station as well as visiting the remarkable sculpture honouring those who travelled on the 'Silk Road'. This was very close to the Sheraton hotel where I had stayed before and it was great to see it all again.  All the guides did a great job and I would be more than happy to recommend them to anyone else doing a similar tour.

We have just returned one of your tours to China and would like to say thank you to your organization. We toured Guangzhou, Guilin, Xian and Beijing. The hotels were excellent, the itinerary was the same, we walked many miles, but it was worth it, it is amazing how much we saw in such a short time. The guides were all excellent and very helpful young people. Our group consisted mainly of mature age/senior passengers so the guides also needed and shown patience and extra helpfulness. Seeing the Terracotta Army in situ was and old dream of mine come true. I hope to return to China again sometime in the future, so keep me on your mailing list.

Everything runs smoothly in impressive Vietnam

Just wanted to let you know how very much we enjoyed the Glimpse of Vietnam tour and the following couple of days in Hong Kong. We had an absolutely marvellous time, and were very impressed with how smoothly everything went - the transfers between airports and hotels were seamless, the hotels themselves were very comfortable, and the tours we were taken on were carried out in the most efficient, friendly and professional manner possible. Thanks to the organising abilities and personal qualities of the tour guides. In Vietnam, Son Nguyen did an excellent job of looking after our group of 20 people.  We were kept fully informed at all times of all aspects of the tour, and it was obviously important to him that everyone was comfortable and having a great time, and his warmth and friendliness endeared him to all of us!

Thank you again for your assistance with arranging our trip, responding to our enquiries, etc. We would certainly recommend Helen Wong's Tours to anyone we knew considering a similar trip.

“We travelled to Shanghai along with Graham and Marjorie Whybrow in May to visit World Expo 2010. Whilst Expo proved to be a bit too crowded for our taste, we want to let you know how impressed we were with our appointed guide Wu. Wu did everything possible to make sure we enjoyed our stay, even to the point of making sure that we were catered for on the extra days we stayed.  She was well organised, prompt, friendly and polite at all times. We loved her!!!!”

Thanks for a wonderful trip

 I am home again from my China trip.  All the arrangements went beautifully, apart from my travel wallet being stolen or lost.  I think stolen, but thank you for emailing me the details.  Everything was wonderful.  The guides were great, especially Carolyn in Xian and Carman in Beijing.  So thank you again for arranging everything.  If you ever need a recommendation, I am happy to provide one.

In June 2010, I travelled to China for work-related matters.  I was able to take 9 extra days and asked Helen Wong’s Tours to organise my trip for me as I was to travel alone and had not visited China before.  I was delighted with the quick response and cost, and even more delighted with my 9 days in China.  I had a truly wonderful time.  My three guides were charming, helpful, flexible and informative.  I particularly enjoyed my guide in Beijing (Carmen) with her background in Chinese history and culture.  I saw and did everything I could fit into the short time in each city.  My accommodation in Guilin, Xian and Beijing was excellent and the travel arrangements were perfect.  The drivers were very kind, helpful and safe. Particularly helpful for me was being met at each airport and delivered to my hotel, regardless of the very late arrival in one case.

Fantastic time all round 

 My husband and I have recently returned from a trip to China and the UK. When in China we enjoyed a trip which was arranged through Helen Wong’s Tours. We stayed in Beijing from March 19-23, and our guide Jamie, along with the driver, was very accommodating indeed. Jamie’s English was excellent, and she was very helpful, and the driver coped ably with the traffic and was prompt and courteous.

Our visit to Xian, between March 23 and 25, was also much enjoyed, assisted by our guide Heather and driver Mr An.

Please accept our compliments 

We have been back a couple of weeks now BUT I really wanted to say we had a fantastic time in China The guides you organised were fantastic: JJ in Shanghai & Lisa in Xi'an. We would thoroughly recommend both. (They were# punctual, looked after us and were just absolutely fantastic. The hotels you picked were very central and made our lives very easy.

One thing for your knowledge that we learnt re Expo. Getting into the CHINA pavilion is about impossible. Note - it is to remain as a permanent exhibition after the EXPO closes.

We queued up from 5am at one of the gates till 8am, then made a 400 /500 metre dash to the next barrier. BUT sadly whilst a close second group, #it# was not enough to get us tickets to the Pavilion. Some of the other pavilions that don’t have queues but are interesting and well worth a visit were Vietnam, Netherlands, also PICC #corporate area). The ferry ride was very nice from one side of the river to the other. The Chinese gardens were lovely/very relaxing.
And the water feature outside the Cultural centre was good fun on a hot day -- possible to take some nice pictures of the Cultural Centre.We almost felt we could have skipped the EXPO and just seen the fantastic sights of Shanghai. We are already thinking of a trip to Beijing next year.

Ecstatic about the trip

We went on your Mighty Yangtze Tour beginning in Shanghai on 3rd June and finishing 19th June in Beijing. Never having been on an organised tour before, we were not too sure what to expect. We are ecstatic about the trip! We felt pampered and totally spoiled every minute we were away. Our local guides were all so accommodating and we felt so privileged to be able to speak to so many Chinese nationals, which gave us a small insight into their lives.
The level of accommodation was fantastic and we had to pinch ourselves several times to ensure we weren't dreaming it all.
We thank you wholeheartedly for the tour and the high standard maintained throughout.
